Hey, Glen here – back in the studio with that familiar calm focus that comes with a long-running collaboration. I’ve been shooting ecomm for FAE Swim since their very first collection dropped, and every time it feels like coming home. There’s something rewarding about watching a brand grow while staying true to its roots, and helping capture their vision year after year is one of the quiet joys of this work.
FAE (fae.house) is that bold, unapologetic Australian swim label out of Byron Bay – women-led, sustainable, and designed for free-spirited women who aren’t afraid to show some skin. Think timeless yet cheeky pieces: minimal v-cut bikinis, g-strings, one-pieces, and resortwear that celebrate the body with confidence and individuality. Their vibe is fresh, empowering, and always evolving – sustainable fabrics, playful cuts, and that effortless Aussie summer energy that sells itself online.
For this latest ecomm session, we brought in the talented Alysha Bandy (@alyshabandy_) – one of my absolute favorites to work with. Alysha’s got that radiant, sun-kissed glow, tall frame, blue eyes, and a natural confidence that makes every pose feel effortless and authentic. She’s repped by Castaway Models and others, with a huge Instagram presence full of Bali adventures and beach vibes. She’s been in FAE campaigns before, and her energy just clicks with the brand’s bold, body-positive spirit.
We kept the studio setup clean and straightforward: soft, consistent lighting to highlight fabric textures, fit details, and skin tones; seamless white backdrops for those pure product shots brands need for their online stores. Front/back views, close-ups on straps and hardware, subtle movement to show how the pieces sit and move – all the essentials for ecomm that converts. The day flowed easily: good playlists, quick breaks with fresh coconuts, laughs between takes, and Alysha nailing that relaxed-yet-sexy confidence FAE loves.
The images came out crisp, flattering, and ready to go – helping showcase FAE’s latest drops in a way that’s aspirational and real. Shooting with Alysha always adds that extra layer of warmth and personality; she’s not just modeling, she’s embodying the vibe.
