This one was for the effortlessly cool Australian denim label Abrand Jeans, and we chased the light across two days: starting on a boat near Nusa Lembongan, moving to Secret Beach on the island, then wrapping Day 2 at an exclusive private villa in Canggu. To add that extra layer of texture and soul, we shot a mix of digital for crisp, shop-ready detail and 35mm film for those organic, timeless frames that feel lived-in right from the start.

We kicked off Day 1 on a boat gliding through the turquoise waters around Nusa Lembongan – wind whipping, sun bouncing off the waves, dramatic cliffs in the distance. The open sea gave us this sense of freedom: models in Abrand’s relaxed jeans and tops leaning on rails, sitting on the edge, laughing as spray misted up. Digital caught the sharp details (fabric texture, fit on body), while the 35mm rolls added that gentle grain and warm color depth that makes denim look even more tactile and real against the ocean backdrop.
From there we hopped to Secret Beach on Nusa Lembongan (connected to Ceningan, but the whole area feels like one hidden paradise). White sand, turquoise water, towering limestone cliffs, and that peaceful, tucked-away energy. Late afternoon light turned everything golden – models walking the shoreline, jeans rolled up with bare feet in the sand, sitting on rocks, casual poses that let the denim feel effortless and coastal-cool. Film captured the soft shadows and rich tones beautifully, while digital nailed the product accuracy for their online store.
Day 2 shifted to a sleek, exclusive villa in Canggu – private infinity pool, lush tropical gardens, modern open-air spaces, and that signature Bali serenity. Here we leaned into relaxed lifestyle shots: lounging poolside in Abrand jeans and light tops, walking through greenery at golden hour, subtle movement on sunbeds. The villa’s clean lines contrasted perfectly with the raw beach day before, showing the denim’s versatility – from ocean adventures to poolside downtime. Again, a blend of digital precision and film’s organic warmth made the images feel premium and personal.
The whole shoot flowed naturally: early boat energy, beachside magic, villa chill. Good music, fresh coconuts, laughs between takes, and that warm Bali light doing its thing across both formats. Digital for quick, commercial clarity; 35mm for that analog soul that elevates the denim’s story – making it feel like pieces you want to live in.
