Hey, it’s Glen – Bali photographer who’s been lucky enough to chase light and moments in some incredible spots. Every once in a while, a shoot comes along that’s just pure creative collab: no big client brief, no strict deadlines, just two people making something beautiful together. That’s exactly what happened when I teamed up with the stunning Norwegian beauty Cathlin Ulrichsen at the dreamy Casa Canela villa in Bali.
Cathlin is one of those rare talents – a 5’7” vision with dark brown hair, striking blue-green eyes, and this effortless, nomadic energy. Based between Bali, Australia, Europe, and LA (repped by Que Models in Australia and Freedom Models in Miami), she travels the world for swim, fashion, and beauty work. Her Instagram is full of that sun-kissed confidence and wanderlust vibe, and when she steps in front of the camera, everything just clicks.
We chose Casa Canela because it’s a total photoshoot dream: a photogenic villa in Bali (part of the Nomada Houses collection) with strong Moroccan-inspired touches – think arched doorways, textured sun-washed walls, earthy tones, lush terraces, and that warm, intimate feel mixed with tropical Bali openness. It’s designed for creators like us: every corner begs to be captured, with soft natural light pouring in and a sense of quiet luxury.
We started indoors with simple, elegant black lingerie – minimal setup, just the villa’s architectural details as backdrop. Clean lines, subtle poses, soft window light highlighting skin textures and lace details. It felt intimate and artistic, focusing on form, confidence, and that quiet sensuality.
Then we moved poolside for the finale: Cathlin in a sleek black dress, embracing wet tropical vibes. Water glistening on skin, hair slicked back from the pool, golden-hour light turning everything warm and dreamy. Gentle splashes, relaxed lounging on the edge, reflections in the water, and that effortless flow as the sun dipped low. The contrast between the Moroccan-inspired villa and Bali’s humid, lush air created this perfect fusion – sensual, empowering, and full of island soul.
These creative days are what keep me inspired: no pressure, just trust, good energy, and letting the light and location guide us. The images feel personal, timeless, and raw – a beautiful reminder of why I love this work.
